- From Jason Geiger - Local Supervisor of Officials - 11/23/2005
- Please review these notes before your next game. We have had some issues in games in the past month.
1. When calling 601 (a), abuse to officials, please follow the order: 2 minute unsportsmanlike, 10 minute misconduct, game misconduct.
2. When signing the scoresheet, please check the penalties that were called, especially when game misconducts are issued in the game. Sometimes we have inexperienced scorekeepers and they are not familiar with the rules. Please check it over to make sure there are no mistakes and what you intended to give was the penalty that was written down.
3. Part of your duties when officiating a game is to write game reports. If you called a game misconduct, then you are required to write a game report…NO EXCEPTIONS! This should be done immediately following the game. Please leave a copy of the report with the hockey director at the rink. They are aware that I will be picking them up when I visit the rink.
4. Please respect your fellow official’s privacy. Please do not give out any official’s phone numbers. Players that have complaints have called officials at home. We do not want our family time, cell minutes, sleep, etc. to be taken to listen to these complaints. Please refer them to the website where they can write a detailed e-mail to the appropriate contact. Hopefully the effort needed to do this will curb some of these
complaints.

- Notice to All CHOP Members -
In light of the recent armed robbery in the parking lot of the Pineville Ice House, I would like to take this time to remind you of a few
things.
1) When the game is over please walk out of the rink with your partner. This should be done to help insure the security of our officials both in terms of any potential dangerous situations outside the rink, but also from any players who may want to confront an official.
2) If we have officials switching in and out and only one person is leaving please ask someone from the rink to walk you out if you feel unsafe at any
time.
The safety of our officials is first and foremost. I know we want to get out of the rink and head home after the late games, however, please take the time to wait on your partner.
